Health, Safety, Environment and Quality
It is the policy of Anglewest Scaffolding Ltd that all reasonably practicable steps will be taken to provide safe and healthy working conditions, and that the health, safety and welfare of employees, contractors, suppliers and members of the general public are always to be protected. Above all else Health, Safety, Environment and Quality are our priority when working on your site.
Management, supervisory staff and any other employee who authorises work to be carried out at any time, are responsible for ensuring that adequate health, safety and welfare facilities are made available and implemented.
Instruction and information on health, safety and welfare matters are contained in the company's Health & Safety manual. Each department and site officer must retain a copy of the manual for the information of those who work on company premises and sites. Start of employment inductions, weekly tool box talks, safety bulletins, monthly management meetings and quarterly safety meetings are all to ensure that the operatives are kept up to date with relevant safety and environmental issues.
Responsibility/Qualifications for HSEQ
Our Senior Operations Manager signs off on the policy document, in addition he and the Contracts Manager hold a NEBOSH qualification in Health & Safety.
Most of the contracts we work on have site inspections every seven days carried out by our scaffold inspector. Each site is inspected once a month as a minimum, in addition to the seven-day inspections. We are currently trialling new technology to assist in carrying out and recording these inspections.
Representation in the Workplace
Each group of our workforce is represented at our quarterly Health & Safety meetings, with the largest group (site scaffolders) being represented by a different employee at each meeting.
